Requirements

NOTE - Please do not install EPAS if it is already installed on the pc as it may overwrite your existing database

In order to install NCER EPAS Version 2.8 each PC must meet the following requirements

Either Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, NT4 or XP must be installed

Microsoft Access 97,  2000,  2002 / XP, 2003 or 2007 must be installed

A Default Printer must be setup

If EPAS is already installed on the PC at an earlier version then apply the necessary updates rather than reinstalling the software as your existing data may need to be updated.

Installing EPAS

The EPAS Version 2.8 Installation Guide is available here as a Word Document

Download the following files

EPAS V2.8 Setup

1) Save the file to a temporary folder

2) In Windows Explorer navigate to the temporary folder

3) Unzip epas_setup_2_8_1.zip into the temporary folder

4) Run setup.exe from the temporary folder

5) Select the version of EPAS to be installed

Because EPAS runs under several different versions of Microsoft Access there are several different setup types

Each version of Microsoft Access has a Standalone, Client or Server setup

i. EPAS for Access nn - Standalone version

Select this installation if
- Microsoft Access nn is installed on the PC
- the EPAS database will be located on this PC

ii. EPAS for Access nn - Server version

Select this installation if
- the EPAS database will be located on a server
- Microsoft Access nn is installed on all the client PCs

Note that this installation only installs the database files

iii. EPAS for Access nn - Client version

Select this installation if
- the EPAS database is located on a server
- Microsoft Access nn is installed on the PC
- the EPAS for Access nn - Server version has already been installed

6) When the installation is complete start EPAS

7) On the login screen Version 2.8.1 will be displayed in the bottom right hand corner

8) Only General Maintenance and National Data will be displayed

9) Any data, in the correct format, can now be imported.
